Sudden changes
Thomas : Salut, Jack !
Thomas: Hi, Jack!
Jack : Salut, Thomas ! Comment ça va ?
Jack: Hi, Thomas! How is it going?
Thomas : Bien, merci. Et toi ? Je ne t'ai plus vu à la salle de remise en forme. Fais-tu toujours du culturisme ?
Thomas: Good, thanks. And you? Haven't seen you at the gym anymore. Are you still doing bodybuilding?
Jack : Non, j'ai arrêté. Je n'ai pas eu beaucoup de temps ces derniers temps.
Jack: No, I stopped. I haven't had much time lately.
Thomas : Ah bon ? Ou est-ce juste de la paresse ?
Thomas: Really? Or maybe just lazy?
Jack : Non, c'est juste que je suis très occupé depuis que j'ai été promu.
Jack: No, I'm just really busy since I've been promoted.
Thomas : Je vois. Mais est-ce que tu sais qu'on peut avoir de graves problèmes cardiaques si on arrête de faire de l'exercice soudainement ?
Thomas: I see. But you do know that you can get serious heart problems if you suddenly stop exercising?
Jack : Oui, je sais. C'est pour ça que j'ai acheté des haltères pour m'entraîner chez moi.
Jack: Yes, I know. That's why I bought some dumbbells so I can train at home.
Thomas : Bien. Le corps ne supporte pas bien les changements soudains.
Thomas: Good. The body doesn't cope well with sudden changes.
Jack : Oui, c'est pareil avec l'alcool. Mon oncle Eric était un peu alcoolique. Un jour, il a soudainement décidé d'arrêter complètement de boire, car sa femme l'avait menacé de divorcer.
Jack: Yes, it's the same with alcohol. My uncle Eric was a bit of an alcoholic. One day he suddenly decided to completely stop drinking, because his wife threatened to divorce him.
Thomas : Et que s'est-il passé ?
Thomas: And what happened?
Jack : Son corps est entré en état de choc à cause de l'état de manque soudain. Il a failli mourir à l'hôpital.
Jack: His body went into shock from the sudden withdrawal. He almost died in the hospital.
Thomas : Ouah, c'est vrai ?
Thomas: Wow, really?
Jack : Oui. Mais il ne boit plus.
Jack: Yes. But he's sober now.
Thomas : C'est bien. Bref, je dois partir. Et félicitations pour ta promotion !
Thomas: Good to know. Anyway got to go now. And congratulations for your promotion!
Jack : Merci. Au revoir !
Jack: Thanks. Take care!
