The atheist

Een jonge vrouw kwam verdrietig thuis.
A young woman came home looking sad.
Ze zei tegen haar moeder: "Paul heeft me vandaag gevraagd met hem te trouwen."
She told her mother, "Paul proposed to me today."
"Waarom ben je dan zo verdrietig?", vroeg haar moeder.
"Then why are you so sad?" her mother asked.
"Omdat hij zei dat hij een atheïst is. Mam, hij gelooft niet in de hel!"
"Because he also mentioned he was an atheist. Mom, he doesn't believe there's hell!"
Haar moeder antwoordde: "Trouw maar met hem! We zullen hem samen wel laten zien dat hij het fout heeft!"
Her mother replied, "Marry him anyway! Together we'll show him how wrong he is!"
