A smart dog

Een man ging bij zijn vriend op visite en was verbaasd toen hij hem zag schaken met zijn hond.

A man went to visit a friend and was amazed to find him playing chess with his dog.

Vol verbazing volgde hij het spel een tijd lang.

He watched the game in astonishment for a while.

"Ik kan mijn ogen nauwelijks geloven!" riep hij. "Dat is de slimste hond die ik ooit heb gezien."

"I can hardly believe my eyes!" he exclaimed. "That's the smartest dog I've ever seen."

"Nee, hij is niet zo slim," antwoordde de vriend. "Van de vijf gespeelde spellen heb ik drie keer gewonnen."

"Nah, he's not so smart," the friend replied. "I've beaten him three games out of five."
