Emma: "Hallo Jack! Hoe gaat het?"

Emma: "Hi Jack! How are you?"

Jack: "Hallo Emma! Met mij gaat het goed, maar mijn vrouw is een beetje depressief sinds ze de baby verloren is."

Jack: "Hi Emma! I'm fine, but my wife is a bit down since she lost the baby."

Emma: "Hoeveel weken was ze zwanger?"

Emma: "How many weeks was she pregnant?"

Jack: "Acht weken. Toen stopte het hartje."

Jack: "Eight weeks. Then the heart just stopped beating."

Emma: "Oh, wat verdrietig. Koop bloemen om haar op te vrolijken!"

Emma: "Oh, sad really. Buy her flowers to cheer her up!"

Jack: "Oh, ze is niet een vrouw die van bloemen houdt."

Jack: "Oh, she's not the sort of woman who likes flowers."

Emma: "Koop bloemen voor haar!"

Emma: "Buy her flowers!"

Een dag later. Jack komt Emma tegen in de gang op het werk.

One day later. Jack meets Emma in the corridor at work.

Jack: "Het werkte!"

Jack: "It worked!"

Emma lacht en zegt: "Zie je wel!"

Emma smiles and says: "You see!"
