A picnic
"Dit is een leuke plek. Laten we hier naast deze boom gaan zitten."
"This is a nice place. Let's sit here next to this tree."
"Goed idee. Dan kunnen we in de schaduw eten."
"Good idea. That way we can eat in the shade."
"Ja. De zon is erg fel vandaag en ik ben vergeten zonnebrandmiddel op te doen."
"Yes. The sun is very strong today, and I forgot to put on some sun lotion."
"Ik ook. Waar heb je de aardappelsalade in gedaan?"
"So did I. Where did you put the potato salad?"
"In die bruine plastic tas. Kun je me de borden aangeven?"
"It is in that brown plastic bag. Could you pass me the plates, please?"
"Alsjeblieft. Mmm, die sandwiches zien er erg goed uit. Wat heb je erop gedaan?"
"Here you go. Mmm, those sandwiches look really good. What did you put in them?"
"Ik heb twee met ham en kaas, twee met krab en mayonnaise en twee met kip en komkommer gemaakt. Denk je dat het genoeg is voor ons beiden?"
"I made two with ham and cheese, two with crab and mayonnaise, and two with chicken and cucumber. Do you think it will be enough for both of us?"
"Ja, dat denk ik wel. Ik eet nooit zoveel bij de lunch. Heb je liever een fles water of een blikje Coca-Cola?"
"I think so, yes. I never eat much food at lunch. Would you prefer a bottle of water, or a can of Coca-Cola?"
"Ik neem wat water. Laten we gaan eten, we moeten om drie uur terug naar huis." "Waarom?"
"I will have some water, please. Let's eat, we have to go back home at three o'clock." "Why?"
"Omdat mijn ouders op bezoek komen. Ik heb het je vanochtend nog verteld." "Oh ja, ik herinner het me nu. Wat jammer."
"Because my parents are coming to visit us. I just told you this morning." "Oh yes, I remember now. What a shame."
