Peter: "Hallo Roman. Leuk je weer eens te spreken. Wow, hoe lang is het geleden? 10 jaar?"

Peter: Hi Roman. Good to talk to you again. Wow, how long has it been? 10 years?

Roman: "Peter!! Ja, het is 10 of 11 jaar geleden dat we elkaar zagen op de schoolreünie."

Roman: Peter!! Yes, it's been 10 or 11 years since we met at the school reunion.

Peter: "En hoe gaat het met je? Werk je nog steeds als coach bij de voetbalclub?"

Peter: So how are things? Still working as a coach at the football club?

Roman: "Nee, niet echt."

Roman: No, not really.

---

Peter: "Maar je was gek van voetbal, nietwaar? We speelden altijd samen met Rainer. Trouwens, hoe gaat het met Rainer?"

Peter: But you loved to play football, no? We used to play with Rainer all the time. How is Rainer by the way?

Roman: "Rainer? Oh.. weet je niet wat er met hem gebeurd is? Hij is omgekomen tijdens de tsunami van 2004."

Roman: Rainer? Oh.. don't you know what happened to him? He died in the tsunami in 2004.

Peter: "Oh, mijn god. Dat wist ik niet."

Peter: Oh, my god. I didn't know that.

---

Roman: "Hij ging met zijn vrouw Christine naar 'Khao Lak' en kwam niet meer terug. Hij was mijn beste vriend."

Roman: He went to "Khao Lak" with his wife Christine and never came back. He was my best friend.

Peter: "Het spijt me dat te horen. Hij was een aardige vent!"

Peter: So sorry to hear that. He was a nice guy!
