Before all diminutives

het huisje (the small house)
het winkeltje (the small shop)
het straatje (the small street)

(The suffix to form diminutives is -je)

Names of metals

het koper (the copper)
het ijzer (the iron)
het goud (the gold)

Names of languages

het Frans (French)
het Engels (English)
het Duits (German)
