Definite article ''de''

The definite article "de" is used when the noun has the following suffixes:

-ing, -ie,- ij, -heid, -teit, -a, -nis, -st, -schap, -de, -te

Examples:

de rekening (the bill)
de organisatie (the organisation)
de maatschappij (the society)
de vrijheid (the freedom)
de nationaliteit (the nationality)
de agenda (the agenda)
de betekenis (the meaning)
de winst (the profit)
de eigenschap (the property)
de methode (the method)
