A visit to the doctor's
"Olá Sr. Jones, o que o traz aqui hoje?
"Hello, Mr. Jones. What brings you here today?"
"Olá Doutor Smith. Quando acordei esta manhã estava coberto de suor e todo o meu corpo tremia. Tive tontura, uma dor de cabeça lancinante e um pouco de febre. Acho que estou com gripe."
"Hello, Doctor Smith. When I woke up this morning, I was covered in sweat and my whole body was shaking. I felt nauseous, I had a pounding headache and I had a bit of a fever. I think I have the flu."
"Entendo, realmente o que o Sr. descreveu soa como gripe. O Sr. poderia, por favor, tirar os sapatos e a camisa e deitar na mesa de exames para que eu possa examiná-lo?
"I see. That does sound like the flu. Could you please take off your shoes and shirt, and lie on the examining table, so that I can examine you?"
"É claro."
"Of course."
"Sim, a sua garganta está um pouco inflamada. O Sr. deve estar febril. Inspire e expire para mim, por favor. Bom. Pode se vestir agora."
"Yes, your throat looks a little inflamed. And you do have a bit of a temperature. Breathe in and out for me, please. Good. You can get dressed now."
"Então Doutor, qual é o meu problema?"
"So what's wrong with me, Doctor?"
"Estava certo Sr. Jones, o Sr. tem um caso leve de gripe comum. Vou prescrever um medicamento antiviral, que o Sr. deve tomar três vezes ao dia por cinco dias. Também quero que fique em casa por três dias e descanse bastante. O Sr. vai precisar de um atestado médico?"
"You were right, Mr. Jones. You have a mild case of the common flu. I'm going to prescribe you an antiviral medication, which you must take three times a day for five days. I also want you to stay at home for three days and get plenty of rest. Will you need a medical certificate?"
"Sim, vou."
"Yes, I will."
"Aqui está. Venha me ver de novo se não se sentir melhor em três dias."
"There you go. Come back to see me if you don't feel any better in three days."
"Muito obrigado doutor. Até mais." "Até mais Sr. Jones."
"Thank you, Doctor. Goodbye." "Goodbye, Mr. Jones."
