The driving lesson
Instrutor de direção: Oi Sra. Smith, está pronta para a sua primeira aula de direção no Reino Unido?
Driving instructor: Hi Mrs. Smith are you ready for your first driving lesson in the UK?
Sra. Smith: Oi, estou sim, mas estou com um pouco de medo, pois estou acostumada a dirigir do lado direito da rua.
Mrs. Smith: Hi, yes I am, but I am a little scared as I am used to driving on the right-hand side of the road.
Instrutor de direção: Não se preocupe, é só uma questão de perspectiva, você logo pega o jeito.
Driving instructor: Don't worry, it is only a matter of perspective, you'll soon get the hang of it.
Sra. Smith: Está bem, vamos começar então!
Mrs. Smith: OK, let's get started them!
Instrutor de direção: A primeira coisa que vamos fazer é treinar baliza.
Driving instructor: The first thing we'll do is practice parallel parking.
Sra. Smith: Esse não é o meu forte!
Mrs. Smith: That is not my forte!
Instrutor de direção: É fácil, vou te ensinar um truque. Você posiciona o carro paralelo às balizas, mas um pouco à frente delas.
Driving instructor: It is easy, I'll teach you a trick. You position the car parallel to the poles, but slightly ahead of them.
Sra. Smith: Está bem, pronto.
Mrs. Smith: OK, done.
Instrutor de direção: Agora você dá ré devagar, com as rodas retas, até a baliza de trás mais próxima da calçada passar do primeiro quarto da sua janela de trás esquerda e breque.
Driving instructor: Now you reverse slowly, with your wheels straight, until the back pole closest to the sidewalk passes the first quarter of your left window on the back and brake.
Agora gire o volante todo para a esquerda e entre no espaço devagar, até as duas balizas sumirem para a direita na sua janela de trás.
Now steer the wheel all the way to the left and drive into the space slowly, until both poles disappear to the right on your back window.
Sra. Smith: Assim?
Mrs. Smith: Like this?
Instrutor de direção: Isso mesmo. Agora continue dando ré, mas vá girando o volante para a direita. Mantenha o carro em movimento.
Driving instructor: That's right. Now you keep reversing, but start steering your wheel to the right. Keep the car moving.
Sra. Smith: Nossa não acredito, acho que está funcionando!
Mrs. Smith: Wow I can't believe it; I think is is working!
Instrutor de direção: Eu disse que a Sra. ia pegar o jeito. Agora endireite a roda e vamos começar de novo.
Driving instructor: I told you you'd get the hang of it. Now straighten the wheel and let's start again.
