(Jake is celebrating his 12th birthday. He is opening his father's gift.)
Kenneth: Aqui está o seu presente Jake.
Kenneth: Here is your gift Jake.
Jake: Obrigado pai!
Jake: Thanks dad!
(Jake abre o seu presente).
(Jake opens his gift.)
Jake: Ah, CDs! ótimo.
Jake: Oh, CDs! Great.
(Jake olha os CDs confuso).
(Jake looks at the CDs confused.)
Jake: Quem é Marvin Gaye? Também nunca ouvi falar de Janis Joplin!
Jake: Who is Marvin Gaye? Never heard of Janis Joplin either!
Kenneth: Eu queria que você ouvisse música de verdade!
Kenneth: I wanted you to listen to real music!
Jake: Ah, mas eu nunca ouvi falar nesses cantores. Quem é "The Doors"? Que nome estranho!
Jake: Oh, but I never heard of these singers. Who are "The Doors"? What a strange name!
Kenneth: Nossa, a juventude de hoje em dia não sabe nada de boa música!
Kenneth: Oh dear. Today's youth has no idea of good music!
(Uma semana depois..)
(One week later..)
Jake: Pai, os seus CDs são ótimos!
Jake: Dad, your CDs are great!
Kenneth: Eu sabia que você ia gostar!
Kenneth: I knew you would like them!
Jake: Sim. Eu gosto da Janis Joplin! Podemos ir a um show dela?
Jake: Yes. I like Janis Joplin! Can we go to her concert?
Kenneth: Ah, infelizmente ela já se foi.
Kenneth: Oh, I'm afraid she isn't alive anymore.
Jake: Ah, que pena. Então vamos a um show do Marvin Gaye.
Jake: Oh, pity. Then let's go to a Marvin Gaye concert.
Kenneth: Ele também está morto.
Kenneth: He's dead too.
Jake: E o "The Doors"?
Jake: What about "The Doors"?
Kenneth: O vocalista morreu também. Agora me sinto muito velho. Talvez seja melhor você voltar a ouvir Justin Bieber.
Kenneth: The singer died too. Now I feel really old. Maybe go and listen to Justin Bieber again.
Jake: Talvez sim. Rá rá!
Jake: Maybe yes. Haha!
