Grammar Lesson 19:

에 and 에서

에 and 에서 are both place markers indicating "at, on, in." Then, when do you use one or the other?

에 only follows with the verbs, 가요/와요 and 있어요/없어요. 
에서 follows with all the other verbs. 

Here are examples. 
1. 학교 가요. I go to school. 
2. 엄마는 집 있어요. My mom's at home. 

3. 엄마가 집에서 일해요. My mom works at home. 
4. 저는 집에서 숙제해요. I do homework at home. 

5. 어디 가요? Where are you going?
6. 어디에서 일해요? Where do you work?
